Curatorial Matters

In this seminar students from all semesters and disciplines were introduced to central discussions traversing the concept of the curatorial. We explored the thinking about the relationship between curating and the curatorial, notions of the thing, questions of space, and the creation of knowledge on site, as well as the roles that transdisciplinarity, transculturality, situatedness, and the public moment play in the construction of the field of the curatorial as producer in-between theory and practice. This seminar was intended for all of those who had an exhibition, publication or presentation project in mind, were planning one or were already involved in conceptualizing and realizing one. Beyond reading and discussing texts, we conducted two external visits and devoted time to individual projects.
